David’s research at the Royal College of Art, ‘Making Planning Popular’, aims to bring discussion about planning out of the boardroom and council chamber and into popular culture at large. De Sica’s film explores these issues through the story of a young couple who take Italy’s 1950s housing crisis into their own hands.3
